The Perfect Pitch

I love the decorative and aesthetic effect of jugs and pitchers in all sorts of ways-- when they stand independently, grouped together and when used as vases for flowers, apart from their obvious use for water and drinks.
Grouped together they make a statement or give big impact.
I have them take places of pride hither and tither throughout the house. Some are merely small and are purely decorative gifts from friends.Outside in the garden, for a photo shoot session. It's been raining today.
These are neither jugs nor pitchers (except one), but I love their lacey ornate look. You know what, there's been a shift in my choice of china. I used to adore any china with rosy prints on, I still do to a certain degree, but I find myself going more and more for plain coloured (especially white and cream) embossed china these days, especially the ones with character and are more ornate and shapely.
It's been freezing cold, but the roses are still flowering non-stop. Hope you'll have a beautiful and productive day, sweet bloggers and friends, till next time!

Wow you have a lot of gorgeous jugs.
Love the white ones behind the blue/white china when they are full of your beautiful roses.
Your garden is looking wonderful.

I can't even remember where I blog hopped over from. I got so lost in your beautiful post. You have such lovely pitchers and china. My favorites were the kinds with the ornate "lacy" look to them, but they were ALL lovely. Thank you for sharing your lovely collection and your roses are beautiful!

I love your pitchers...they are so beautiful. Recently I have started acquiring pitchers myself, and I too am drawn to the solid colors over the printed.

Rosy - beautiful collection of jugs and pitchers! I also like the Staffordshire transferware ones - but they are rather hard to come by at my end...

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Rosy,

No, I have never heard of Judith, but have gone to her blog afer reading your comment. You are absolutely RIGHT - her tablesettings are simply unbelievably beautiful! She had used Lady Carlyle for her Christmas tablesetting. Even though I am not really a pink Christmas kind of gal, I have to say the way she has done it is very tasteful and elegant and Victorian! Thanks for referring me to that blog... Have a wonderful day.

p.s. On a sad sad note, did you hear about the tragedy that happened in Steven Curtis Chapman's family? They desperately need our prayers:

Hi Rosy,

Thanks for doing the legwork in finding out exactly what the "roses" are... I had thought that the person who had owned that expanse of land where it is now subdivisions had planted them or something...

They are growing way out there enough that we don't have to worry about it. But I can see how far reaching they can be judging from how big they are right now...

Thanks bunches! :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Your photos and your garden continue to inspire! They are so beautiful, and your talent is so incredible!

As for the other Joy of Springtime windows, I've found photos all of only 2 so far, but will post them when I find the rest of them. It was only a couple years ago that I decided I needed to be organized about my digital photo filing, so everything before that is, well, let's just say my hard drive is kinda ugly prior to that. :-)))

Congratulations on your two awards. They are richly deserved!
