Black Swans

Hi, people, hope you're having a good break over the Easter holidays. Something different and not rose-related today. A swan, a black swan.I took these pictures in October last year and thought nothing much about them afterwards, black swans are native here.Oh! Don't you love the formation they made? Good for beautiful composition. Mum and dad with three kids, the darker ones are adults and the grey ones are kiddos, or teenagers?? All swimming in one direction. Good obedient teenagers, if you ask me.

When we were in Holland we fell in love with the black swans on the ponds. They are so graceful. Love the pics, brings back warm, cozy memories of a wonderful country.

Hope you had a lovely Easter.

Do they stay black or turn to white? How interesting that i've never ever seen a black swan. Thank you so much for sharing.

Rosie, I adore these swans. I had the pleasure of visiting them and photographing them at a unique pub on our island called the Crow and Gate, quite authentic old English. It is also set on an acre or so of beautiful property with an awesome pond that houses many different ducks, and above all a pair of black swans, which I found where native to your part of the world. Our last vist, we noticed two pairs. I have taken lots of pictures of them, I think they are beautiful! Thanks for showing them to us in their natural habitat.
